8 cards included in this lot. The REAL'Shelby Signature Series' GOLD cards. Carroll Shelby only signed the GOLD foil stamped cards in the series and he only signed 8 of the 9.

He was originally asked to sign the'Art Card' but in true Shelby fashion, he said'that's a piece of art that I didn't create. I'd rather not sign on top of someone else's artwork'. The 9th card in the set can be found rather easy in a box.

That art card is NOT included. Winner will also receive a sealed box of Mustang Cards.

You should be able to pull plenty of art cards in there. You can identify the REAL signed cards by a hand written ballpoint pen numbered 1 through 2500 and the printed words'of 2500' following. Shelby signed these cards in his hotel room of the 1992 Indy 500! The Mustang Cards cases became available to dealers in 1993 and boxes and packs appeared on retail shelves for about 6 months.

That's coming up on 30 years ago! Any SILVER stamped signed cards could be Shelby's real signature but they are not authenticated like the Gold Cards and are not part of the signed original series.

There were also 8 times as many silver cards as Gold cards. There were 2500 gold cards signed. One was randomly put in a case (one of 720 packs) of Mustang Cards Carroll Shelby Signature Series I and Series II cards. That means there could only be 300 of these sets ever assembled but we're only aware of about 35 sets being assembled.
