A superb original autograph note from. An early and clear signature from 21 years old Queen Victoria. Written in October, 1840 on official black-edged stationary bearing superb'VR' blind stamp. Queen signed this document during first pregnancy in 1840, in the first few months of the marriage to Prince Albert and only 3 months after 18-year-old Edward Oxford attempted to assassinate her while she was riding in a carriage with Prince Albert on her way to visit her mother.
Oxford fired twice, but either both bullets missed or, as he later claimed. A small defects in black edging and small hole below the blind stamp.
